We spent 9 days in Maine, it was awesome. We got back home this past Sunday. I was kind of leery about going because I have so much work to do, but it was exactly what I needed. We had been promising the boys we were going to go again for some years now, but every year something came up. I’m so glad we went! It was exactly what we all needed. I’m so refreshed and charged up, ready to make things happen.

My daughter I-bop couldn’t come, she had to work at her part-time job and also modeled for a show (Clevelanders she was in the fashion show at the Ingenuity Fest). We really missed her! I hope she comes next year.

Mostly we were in booth bay harbor. also visited bar harbor, mount desert island, camden, wiscasset, damariscotta, brunswick. But mostly in booth bay. It was really nice. I also lost a few pounds while in Maine. mostly cause I do not eat lobster, mussles, clams, quahogs, etc LOL and also ’cause we did a lot of walking.

Maine is national geographic pretty. another awesome thing about maine: I only saw 2 Mcdonald’s and 1 wal-mart! most of the businesses in general were indie, hardly any chains. and lots of indie bookstores, you know I had to check those out :)

I am already looking forward to next year’s visit to Maine!

Maine Vacation 2008 - Day 8 Kayaking, Swimming, Family Hang Out

We spent a lot of time in the water. well my menfolk did, they swam a lot. I just kayaked for a bit and hardly swam. I stuck a toe in and my entire foot got numb! Maine water is freezing cold. but the salt water is so buoyant!

Hi Trula! I’m glad that you had an amazing time in Maine. It’s good just to take a moment and just…chiiiill! Hahahaha…Well, I have a question for you that you can answer here or you just might want to blog about. Recently I’ve had a girlfriend of mine coming to ask me for advice. You know those conversations that go along the lines of ” What would you do if you were me?”. I’m really out of this element on this one. I was thinking to myself that you might be the perfect person to help me! Okay so, she’s been with this guy for a quite of few months now, and now she’s coming to me because it’s getting serious. The snag in the situation well not really a snag, but a concern for her. She just recently started bringing him around her kids. She tells me that he talks to them and seems to genuinely like them. She just wanted to know if there were any signs that she should be looking for that her kids might not get along with him. Her oldest is a girl 14 and her other adorable child is 8 and he’s a boy. She’s already had the talk with her kids like if anything happens you know come talk to me. She just wants to know how a guy should be acting if he’s about to be involved with a ready made family. I don’t have the answer to this, and so I’m asking you how was/is Brian with the kids. Does he talk to them a lot? Do they run to you or him first for things? Stuff like that. I already told homegirl that he seems like a natural around kids, but I think her underlying point is that she wants them ( the kids and her mister) to have a wonderful relationship. I also believe she is a little scared of depending on someone else. That’s just me thinking though. Any more indepth feedback you can give me would be wonderful. I hope this message wasn’t confusing.

Well it varies from person to person of course. But since her kids are 14 and 8, they are more than old enough to clearly tell her if they don’t like him or not. That shouldn’t be a problem.

I would suggest to your friend that she not waste time looking signs if he is ready or not or worrying about how he should be acting. She should just ask him. They need to have a frank conversation about not only where the relationship is going but what they both want, need, and expect out of a relationship.

    That’s great advice. Thanks.
