We went to the AST Dew Tour this past Saturday July 21st. My sons got to meet skateboarding superstar Andy MacDonald!! and each got a signed pic of him. This meant so much to them and he was very nice. He is a big inspiration to them and one of the skaters whose skills they admire very much. They were just thrilled to meet him and will remember this for the rest of their lives.

At the tour there were a ton of side events and promotions and games going on for various radio, TV, and websites going on. This one was for Fuel TV. This was a spinning wheel type of game and depending on where it landed you got sprayed with water or got a prize. Ibop got a prize, a tee shirt!

I have had a ‘sour grapes’ attitude toward skateboarding for years, ever since I gave it up as a teen because I kept hurting my chest. But my sons’ enthusiasm for the sport re-opened my own enthusiasm, as well as their interest in BMX biking. We saw the tour when it was in Baltimore on TV and I was just floored at how amazing these athletes are, it is indeed a valid sport and participants are highly skilled athletes. When they found out the next city was Cleveland, my sons were beside themselves with joy. We of course had to go!!

This was at the BMX bike park event. There were moments where we were less than 10 feet from my favorite Daniel Dhers!! Oh my word, he put on a show.

This is where the dirtbike events were. We only got to see a little of this.

This was the skateboarding vert event, I forget who this was but he was awesome! Look how close it was to Lake Erie.

I have the most adorable kids in the world! They were just happily walking and talking along. There was a moment where the 3 of them had linked arms.
