I have Broken the Sound Barrier…
or at least that’s what it feels like!!! Yes, I now weigh 199 pounds!!

I am under 200 pounds, oh my :)
This is such a psychological relief and boost to me.
I am just thrilled.

I still have a long way to go (69 pounds to my goal weight) but I know it is just a matter of time. I have lost 11 pounds since the challenge and I must give dynamom a sincere THANK YOU for starting this because this support was just the help I needed. I had planned to lose weight but kept putting off even knowing how much I truly weighed.

Today we are meeting with the trainer again at the Y, we meet with her 4 times over 12 weeks. Mercury Man is excited because he has been actually weight-lifting and seeing results already in his arms. Me, not so much. I am not averse to weight training, it’s just I like doing the elliptical stuff and spinning and walking better. I will ask her for tips that will help me get over that, because I know strength-training is important in particular to help with stamina, energy, and bone density as we age. The trainer herself is motivating and an inspiration because she is probably around my mom’s age but she looks 10-15 years younger (the only way I suspect her age is by her hand and throat skin)

I am getting more done around the house because I want to keep my steps up daily no matter what other exercise I do. 10,000 steps a day is recommended for health for a person within in healthy weight guidelines, and if you are trying to lose weight 12,000 steps a day is recommended for (very) slow but steady weight loss. I am going to make this a habit so that being active is what I do, part of who I am, like washing my hands after I use the bathroom. That’s something I do regardless of what else is going on in my life, you see? I want to make being active just something I do, a part of my habitual activities.

Today’s Goals
1/2 hour weight training
45 minutes elliptical
10, 000 steps
No salt added to food
Brush & floss after every meal
10 cups water, 8 oz each
One serving meals, no seconds
Raw veggies snacks
Raw fruit dessert
Bedtime 10pm
weight loss by day 21 – 11 pounds
