Making Sleeping Bags for Christmas

Ok, I make quilts for my kids each year. I am in full swing of working on this year’s holiday quilts, so there is a lot of sewing stuff around. The boys asked me to make sleeping bag quilts this year, and I was like huh? Turned out Todd’s quilts from 3 years ago had come open across the top seam a little. He ripped it open and had been using it as a sleeping bag! So Scott asked me to make his like that, and I did. I took the front and backs of the quilts apart, sewed on a new lining for both, and sewed them back together leaving the top open, then reinforced the stitching on the sides. Here is Todd’s, he was bouncing around in his this morning while waiting on the school bus:

This blanket’s theme was Power Rangers, the center(ish) piece was cut from one of his old sweatshirts:

and these are he and I being silly, we were cracking up! I have such fun kids :)
