I-bop had me unravel her dreadlocks last year and asked me if she could get a mohawk. I said yes. She wore it in various styles. Here is the hawk natural:

straightened and spiked out with a hair dryer:

Although I had told her what kind of damage heat could do to her hair, she still chose to do it. I let her because I knew this was a temporary hairstyle and phase. Here it is 8 months later straightend with a flat-iron and bleached and colored, you can see how damaged her hair is and how much of it broke off:

So she decided to cut it off recently, after she went to prom. She ended up shaving it almost bald to cut off all the color and get it even all over:

As you might recall i-bop turned 17 recently. Here are pics from her party:

I was kind of nervous having a house and yard full of teenagers, but they went outside and ran around and played on the swing just like little kids, it was grand:

Me and my baby:

Although I figured the mohawk was temporary, I still miss it a little. But she looks so elegant with her hair so short, it really accents her features. She said she’s going to keep it short for the summer then grow it out during her senior year of high school.

She IS beautiful, Trula. I don’t know if my son would let his get that long. He doesn’t like the combing out part that comes with it being that high…I say, if I was 17 again, I would definitely go for it.
    any way, she’s beautiful.
