Is it me or is Malcolm Gladwell a total hottie? Man, I am in love with his books. What a mind! Makes me wonder. I mean he’s not as physically fine as Brian, my current husband or Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje**, my 2nd husband or Lenny Kravitz** my 3rd husband, but lord have mercy his mind is gorgeous. I wonder what it would be like to be married to someone so smart. What kind of conversations would we have? What kind of dreams does he have? Would my mind sharpen just from proximity? Not that my Brian is any kind of mental midget…I just wouldn’t call him an intellectual, per se. Me either, I just like to front sometimes like I’m an intellectual. In general intellectual people aggravate my nerves because they are so phony. You can tell they never had an original thought in their lives; they just parrot stuff they’ve been taught or read or heard somewhere. Malcolm Gladwell though, he’s the real thing.

A few times many moons ago when I was taking Calculus I’d have these little pings! going off in my head at the beauty of the equations and theorems and stuff. This one in particular, The Mean Value Theorem, had me all messed up for a long time. I swear I heard angels singing, the sheer beauty of that theorem hit me all at once and tears came to my eyes. I still use it to calm my soul doing yoga. I think later the teacher gave me an incomplete rather than an F flat-out simply because he could tell I had a true appreciation of math, even though I hardly ever turned in any homework and skipped or failed most of the tests. I had a new baby and was working full-time, and had severe PPD. In short, I was too crazy to see how wacked out my schedule was. But I digress. My point is I bet Malcolm Gladwell is walking around getting little pings! going off in his head all the time just from his own original thoughts. I would love to see that up close and personal. I bet he is as intense as all get out.

**take note I am just kidding here, I do not personally know either Adewale or Lenny. I just think they are both adorable and talented and fine. I am also kidding about my husband Brian being my current husband. He will, in fact, be my husband forever or until he chooses otherwise, because I love him and will stay with him forever and ever amen. and yes, we are monogamous. A woman can look though, can’t she?
