Scott is 15 and a freshman in high school. I thought by this age I would no longer have to battle him about washing, but this is still happening. It was cute when he was little (don’t ask me why I thought that) then got annoying when he started puberty and really started sweating a [...]
Scott at the Football awards ceremony. The team had a great season, he really enjoyed playing. He learned a lot about dedication and discipline.
My son Todd got this sudden lump on his neck. It appeared one night right before bedtime, and looked like a spider bite. By early morning it was the size and feel of a soft-boiled egg. He wasn’t in any pain and not feverish, so I held off rushing him to the emergency room and [...]
A few pics of Scott preparing to go to the Homecoming Dance at his high school. He is a freshman and this was his first high school dance. He had a great time!
I recently had a miscarriage. I didn’t even know I was pregnant! well, my period mid-August was a couple days late, then I got it and it was super heavy. I didn’t think anything of it as I was only 2 days late. I hadn’t missed any prior periods though my July period was light. [...]
The boys recently started back up at school. Here they are on the first day of school, preparing to leave. T-bop is now in 6th grade and S-bop is now in 9th grade. High school! I thought I was prepared having gone through this with I-bop, but it really feels fresh and new with each [...]
Now that my sons are 14 and 11 you would think my days of dealing with toys on the floor are over. But there is still one last toy they love: LEGO. The toy that goes from preschool to high school!

The mama calendar is a community building-consciousness raising resource by, of, about and for progressive, feminist, activist mothers and their families, friends & allies everywhere. it is a celebration and a call to action, a thing of beauty to last the year.
Edited by coleen murphy, the calendar features photos of mamas, babies, children, dads, and [...]
I hang the art work the kids have made at school throughout the house, especially the kitchen. It makes the kitchen so bright and festive. Here are some of the boy bops’ paintings from when they were younger.
S-bop, who is starting high school, at his team’s scrimmage game. A scrimmage is a practice game against an opposing team. I can’t believe my baby is in high school already! He is very excited about playing, very excited to be in high school. The coaching staff is training them to be [...]
We got a new cat, the boys named her Nibbles and I named her Suzy Homemaker. We only had her a few days, I-bop was able to keep her at her new place after putting down a pet deposit so got the last word on the name. She named her Tawny. Then sadly, Tawny passed [...]
This is from the blog A Girl and Her Lung. I wish everyone so adamant against health care reform could/would read about her life. excerpt:
I’m writing this today, not because I am out to change anyone’s mind, or because I see myself as a political activist, but because our daughter lives with an on-going, critical [...]
I had my daughter when I was 17 and we had hard times, including her see me get beat down by her bio dad many times. She also witnessed me have a postpartum depression breakdown in which I nearly killed her baby brother and I lost custody of him for a while. and then less [...]

We went to Boothbay Harbor, Maine for our vacation this year. It’s a lovely place and we had a great time!
My husband and the boys hanging out on Father’s Day. It was a real nice day, they made him a big breakfast and later, after presents helped to make a great dinner for him. ^_^
S-bop on his first day of his first job, as an aide to preschool children at Safety Town!
The inside of my daughter’s car. I don’t know how she drives with all that stuff hanging dow; it would aggravate my nerves LOL.

Since my older son is starting high school in the fall I wanted to keep his word skills up during this summer vacation. There are a lot fo good websites out there, I found Vocaboly, it’s a vocabulary software. We’re using the free trial and so far so good. It has more than 12,000 words [...]
One of the things I love about living in a small Ohio town: the parades Brian and the boys and pulled out some chairs to the tree lawn and watched the parade go by and chatted with the neighbors. A friend of mine I hadn’t seen [...]
It really, really was. I spent the day with Brian and the kids, and they made and got me such lovely gifts. T-bop made me another comic, S-bop made me a gag gift, and I-bop got me a Monster tennis ball in my favorite color, pink. Brian got me some new garden tools and a [...]
My baby girl turned 20 recently. 20!!!!!
S-bop is very athletic, in the fall he plays football and in the spring he runs track. We went to a track meet, he was very happy because I-bop came. She is in college and has a job and recently moved out so we don’t get to see her that [...]
My daughter I-bop moved today into her very first place. She wanted to be closer to the college she is transferring to. I was somewhat sad but prepared, as this was her plan all along; to stay home for school the first 2 years then [...]
I-bop’s birthday is coming up in May, she will be twenty years old. I am thinking on what to give her…for sure we’re getting her books, and I’m making her something (those are standard trula kids gifts ) but I also want to give her something special to mark being 20 years old. [...]
We had a lovely Easter, spent the morning hanging out and talking about the pagan roots of Easter (no we are not pagans). Later went over to my in-laws.
